APIAVote has been hosting a series of conference calls to familiarize and demystify the Transition processes of the Administration & Congress. As the 111th Congress gets sworn in on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009, this call is all the more timely and relevant. Communities will be looking to both the White House and the Hill for policy changes and renewed priorities. The discussion will revolve around the key roles AAPIs have and can have in the legislative branch, as well as the legislative advocacy work of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and various policy and leadership committees. Guest speakers will also be providing insight and guidance on how to navigate career opportunities on Capitol Hill at such a crucial time. Guest speakers will be Debra Wada and Erika Moritsugu. Wada is a Professional Staff Member of the House Armed Services Committee and Lead Staffer for the Military Personnel Subcommittee. Wada has had over 20 years of experience working in various positions on the Hill.
