Major League Player Chan Ho Park tied the record for the most wins among Asians in Major League Baseball, with a 123rd victory, yesterday.
The Pittsburgh Pirates reliever stepped on the mound in the eighth inning with his team trailing 0-1 and didn’t allow a score. The Pirates then scored three runs at the top of the ninth for a 3-1 win.
The 37-year-old earned a victory for the first time in two months and his 123rd career win equals the record set by Japanese starter Nomo Hideo.
It took five years from the right-handed hurler’s 100th win to reach this landmark.
