Asian models Danni Li, Zhu Lin and another Asian model Jiang Xiao Yi all graced the runway for the Fashion Fringe show, hosted by John Galliano.
Chinese model Danni Li is represented by Elite Model Management in New York and Success in Paris. Li has walked the runways for L.A.M.B., Marchesa, Christian Dior, Zac Posen and Giorgio Armani.
Zhu Lin also hails from China and has been signed to IMG since 2008. Lin has walked for Vera Wang, Rachel Roy and Vivienne Tam.
Jiang Xiao Yi is in the Pinko ad campaign for this season. Last season, she walked exclusively for Givenchy and the Christian Dior show in Shanghai.
Fashion Fringe was set up to help promote young, new design talent. The three finalists shortlisted were Alice Palmer, Corrine Nielson and Jade Kang. The winner of this year’s competition was the American designer, Corrine Nielson. She will win a cash prize and the opportunity to show during London Fashion Week.
Jade Kang, the only Asian designer nominated, is Korean but came to London in 2002 and graduated from London College of Fashion in 2005. Since his graduation, Kang worked for Giles Deacon, Alexander McQueen and Jonathan Saunders.
To date, the Fashion Fringe show has the highest number of Asian models in one event at London Fashion Week. Technically, the event is three shows as there are three designers but we are still thrilled to see three top Asian models walking in London Fashion Week.
