Chinese search engine Baidu Inc. has released an Internet browser that will compete with Microsoft Corp.’s Internet Explorer and Google Inc.’s Chrome.
The program’s layout of buttons and browsing tabs look similar to Google’s Chrome, but it also has a home page that displays links to software applications and popular websites, such as Sina’s Weibo.
Users can open up a “Treasure Vault” section to search through 30,000 applications and other features—such as games, videos and links to thousands of websites—and add them to the home page. The applications open in a new tab in the browser, many of them under a Baidu Web address.
Nice! Go Baidu!
