A Billionaire is a rare breed. He is probably looking for a woman who can handle everything that comes along with him – and trust me, billionaires have a lot of baggage! Is it a smart idea to date one of them?
A man who has a lot of money often gets the attention of plenty of women. He usually has his pick of a wide variety. But here’s the catch: WHY does he have so many women at his beck and call? It’s simply because he has MONEY! He has plenty of money, and that can draw certain kinds of women to him like flies to honey. The bad news is that he never really knows who wants him for who he is, versus who wants him for the money he can obviously make. That’s where YOU find the advantage. Billionaires are just like anyone else when it comes to finding love. They want to be able to settle down with someone who loves them for who they are, not for what they can bring to the bank account. Keep this in the forefront of your mind when you go looking for someone who is financially stable. It isn’t about having the best designer clothes or the private jet. It’s about being with someone who happens to have enough money that neither of you have to worry about other things! Before you go after that hot guy with the fat wallet, keep some tips in mind:
1. TREAT HIM LIKE ANY OTHER GUY.
Billionaires are accustomed to being treated like royalty. They have staff at their beck and call. They get anything they want, from a cup of hot tea to a complimentary massage at the spa. They don’t need another person pandering to them. That’s why you should treat him as you would any other man that you might be interested in. Talk with him. Tease him. Play a little hard to get – but not too much. Most millionaires/billionaires have a good dash of alpha male in them, and alphas LOVE the chase. That’s why you shouldn’t make it easy for him. This is especially attractive to the millionaire, because he is used to having things HANDED to him. If he has to chase you, the game is on!
2. DON’T BE INTIMIDATED.
The word “billionaire” means that he has plenty of money. But he is still just a man who has a loving side, a vulnerable side, and many things that he might hope you don’t see. He’s nervous sometimes. Maybe he worries that he’s great at business but terrible at relationships. No matter how much money he has, he is still human! Don’t be afraid of the word “billionaire” or a guy who happens to have that kind of money. In the end, he’s just like you and me and everyone else in the world.
3. MAKE YOURSELF INTO THE TOTAL PACKAGE.
Billionaires have their pick of women, so it pays to make yourself stand out. This means having the entire package all wrapped up in a pretty little bow. (I know I do). Have your hair professionally done, and your nails, too. Learn to apply makeup with a delicate hand. Get a serious makeover of your wardrobe, and enlist that trainer at the gym to get you into tip-top shape. You don’t have to be a raving beauty to get his attention, (I won’t sugar coat it– it REALLY helps if you are but you have much more going for you!) but you DO have to take good care of yourself in order to stand out from the crowd. Get started on that right now!
4. BE WELL-READ.
Billionaires didn’t get to their position in life by being dense. They are very well-educated, well-read individuals who know quite a bit about many things (like me). In order to keep his attention, you have to keep his brain engaged. The more you make him think, the more interested he is going to be. If you challenge his views, he’s going to be even more intrigued. Start now by keeping up with current events. Cultivate hobbies that are intriguing to those with money, such as antique collecting, flying or sailing. Learn all you can about the world around you.
5. DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY.
Millionaires/Billionaires are always on the lookout for the classic “gold digger.” They are looking out for women who obviously want money from them and nothing else. Do NOT be that woman. Even if your financial situation is precarious, do not ask for money. (Only do this intentionally if he is not worth keeping and you want him to feel like a cheap and classless cad). It is okay to explain your situation to him. IF he asks you, but by all means, do NOT request anything of him if he is a serious keeper! What if he offers money to you? Many millionaires/billionaires do this at the beginning of a relationship to see how you might react to his offer. Beware it is a TEST! It is best to politely turn it down or better yet offer him something in return like useful contacts, discounts, broker special deals and/or first-rate tickets for shows and art events, etc. (Unfortunately, the more money these guys have, the more of a thrill it is for them to save from as much as $100.00 down to $5.00). The sooner you know that the better. I grew up knowing that. There is something so exhilerating about saving 50cents or a dollar on X brand of cereal and going to Bloomingdales armed with that internet coupon during the semi-annual sale. Nothing is ever near as glamorous as it appears. Make your own money. However, if you have been dating for a while and he begins to insist on giving you money, it might be time to sit down and have a long talk about what you want from the relationship. Starting with “I want you, not your money” is a good way to broach the subject.
6. RESPECT HIS TIME.
Men who have made that kind of money didn’t do it by sitting at home and slacking off. He probably has an insanely busy schedule and plenty of things to keep him occupied. (I know that I am super busy all of the time and I am hardly a Billionaire). In fact, he might long to have some time off! Always remember that this guy probably has to shuffle his schedule to make room to date you. Since he is going out of his way for you, it’s okay to go out of your way for him, too. If you suggest a date on Friday and he simply can’t do it because he has to be on a plane halfway across the world, be flexible. Tell him you are willing to rearrange your schedule and have the date on Thursday instead. But don’t do this ALL the time. Though he might have a busy schedule, he can change it to accommodate you from time to time. Remember that even if you are giving him some latitude, HE is still the one who has to do the chasing!
7. LOOK FOR THE CHEMISTRY.
Finally, remember that even the most handsome, well-read and amazing millionaire/billionaire is not going to make good relationship material if the spark just isn’t there. That is not fair to you or to him. Trust me, very rich men can see that coming a mile away! All too often, women will start dating an amazing man only to find out that they have little in common with him. Or worse, they have everything in common but they just don’t feel the chemistry. It might be tempting to stay with him simply because he IS so amazing. He is the ultimate alpha male! He has plenty of money and prestige and so many other things that make him unique. But if the chemistry is not there, you could wind up with a fancy house, plenty of cars, a pile of money and a man that you might not be able to tolerate ten years from now. Even though so many women could, you will not get very far. So think carefully before you dive into a serious relationship with a millionaire. Focus on HIM, not on the money. If he just doesn’t light your fire, it is best to part as friends. But if he is the kind of man that you know you could fall in love with, by all means, go for it!
To the happiness you deserve!
