According to Thursday reports from international newswires like Newsis and TVreport, South Korean hit singer Rain will be the next music star to perform in a military concert in Hanoi next week.
The event is part of a series of cultural activities to celebrate the 20th year of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and South Korea.
Rain is serving in the Korean Army (military service is compulsory for all Korean males), he will perform with the Korean National Military Symphony Orchestra on the Hanoi Opera House’s stage. RnB singer and songwriter Park Hyo Shin, who is most well known for composing soundtracks for hit dramas like” I’m Sorry, I Love You” (2005) and “Athena” (2010), will also perform at the event.
According to Newsis, the whole Korean crew will consist of 90 people, including 60 members of the orchestra, 17 traditional musicians and 7 assistants.
Rain is expected to arrive in Hanoi on March 17 and participate in a few cultural exchange activities with Vietnam’s Military Cultural and Art University and the Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi.
In 2006, Rain was named by Time magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World.”
Rain’s concert will be held on March 21 at the Hanoi Opera House at 1 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
