Globe-Trotting films, ‘LIFE! CAMERA ACTION…‘ & ‘ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER LIFE’ produced and directed by debutante Rohit Gupta was honored with the ‘Best Film of the Festival’ & ‘Best Film under 30 minutes’ awards respectively at the Hot Media International Film Festival (HMIFF) 2012.
The gala awards ceremony was held on Saturday March 31 at the prestigious Capitol Hilton in the nations capital Washington, D.C. “This is a great honor especially among other nominees that are much larger in scale & scope”, said the director in his acceptance speech at the awards banquet. ADAL was nominated in the Best Film under 30 minutes, Best Screenplay, Best Director & LCA in Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Film categories respectively.
‘Our judges unanimously voted for both the films as our festival highlights’, said June Daguiso, Founder/Executive Director, HMIFF, at the awards presentation.
‘ROULETTE’, a thriller – feature by another debutante filmmaker Erik Kristopher Myers picked up seven awards across multiple categories; ‘GOD & VODKA’ a short, written, produced & directed by Daniel Stein, walked away with the Best Short Film award at the event.
Life Time Achievement honors was awarded to Filmmaker George Stober & six times Grammy nominated musician F. Steele Henderson.
HMIFF wowed attendees and enthusiasts with award winning musical performances with award-winningGhanaianmusician, singer Koby Maxwell, Debbie Pool and attended by celebs including Connie Lamothe, Al Sutton, Tammy Barboza, Noor Naghmi, Anastasia; host of the Hollywood in Washington D.C among others.
‘ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER LIFE’ has also been announced as the ‘Official Selection’ to showcase at the upcoming 10th River Bend International Film Festival 2012 and Spirit Quest International Film Festival 2012 to take place in April in the US.
LIFE! CAMERA ACTION… with an acclaimed cast including Dipti Mehta, Shaheed Woods, Noor Naghmi & Nina Mehta, will be next showcased at the Treasure Coast International Film Festival 2012 to take place in mid April in Port St. Lucie.
