As of March 1, 2012, Asian American Film Lab elected its first female president, Jennifer Betit Yen.
Jennifer Betit Yen, is an actress and an attorney who is now also CEO of a children’s book publishing company.
She is also an avid sports lover and athlete. Jen shares her love of Asian heritage and has a Caucasian parent so she can sympathize with some of Hapas’ identity issues. Although Jen hails from New York City, she spent several years living in Boston and has spent her fair share of time enjoying life on Beacon Street.
Every year, the Film Lab runs, in conjunction with Asian CineVision, the 72 Hour Filmmaking Competition. The top ten films screen in New York City at the Asian American International Film Festival in July.
