Though there are many things to love about fashion week and the whirlwind of shows and parties, the one thing editors and celebrities look forward to the most are the many gifting lounges to spend time in between shows and appointments. With so many hotels close to Lincoln center, the Empire hotel was the epicenter of lounges. Kicking off the week was the celebrity laden GBK lounge. There were so many celebs that stopped by, I almost got knocked out by a sound boom! Some of the celebrities that stopped by were Sherry Shepherd (“The View”), Angela Simmons (“Pastry” Shoes / “Run’s House”), Katrina Bowden (“30 Rock”), Mark Cuban and the cast of (“Shark Tank”), Paul Sparks, HBO’s (“Boardwalk Empire”) Jennifer Ashton, ABC’s (“The Revolution”) Tamara Tunie, NBC’s( “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”) Olivia Culpo – Miss USA, Leila Lopes – Miss Universe, Jana Kramer CW’s (“One Tree Hill”), and Nasim Pedrad (“Saturday Night Live”).
The lounge was styled with the artistic fresh floral artwork of Flowers of the World, and electric violinist Sarah Charness kept the mood upbeat with her eclectic mix and unique style.
Guests were treated to PointReyes Farmstead Cheese Company and See Jane Bake, while sampling signature cocktails from Brugal Extra Dry Rum, the pride of the Dominican Republic as the only 100% Dominican rum, and Wine Chateau, one of the most experienced wine retailers online offering a vast selection of wines from around the world. Complimentary beauty services were offered, including makeup applications from Presenting Sponsor Hard Candy, and nail designs by imPRESS Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails.
GBK’s VIP guests indulged in a selection of goodies and luxury lifestyle brands, including Presenting Sponsor Pilot Pen, which introduced an erasable gel ink pen sure to come in handy, Scunci; Tweezerman, The Beauty Tool Experts; Izlla, eco-luxury face and body products; G Wear, unique recycled fashion shirts; New York City Cosmetic and General Dentistry; Baan Unrak Conscious Collection: SUK pants, hand woven pants by Thai locals and mothers of Baan Unrak – a community in Thailand that cares for 150 children from difficult backgrounds; MODAY, sexy, classy contemporary slips and camisoles; RevitaLash, Beyond the Rack, North America’s premier online shopping club; Jada Toys, Inc; Caribbean Living Magazine, gifting each celebrity a one-week stay in the Caribbean; Xela Fashion; Kspin Designs – a Children’s Couture Clothing Company; Misahara Jewelry, inspired by world travel and featuring quality gem stones; Hot Rock Jewelry.com; a watch collection by Marc Coblen – an innovative, new fashion brand that boasts over 40,000 style combinations all in one watch; handbags from Katherine Kwei; and BLINKZGEAR, Urban+Life Messenger Bags
