The driver who was not criminally charged with running over a Queens toddler in a crosswalk has finally been taken off the road, according to the family’s lawyer. Why is he not in JAIL?!!!
Ahmad Abu-Zayedeh lost his license after a special hearing the DMV held earlier this month to determine if he was fit to stay on the road, said the attorney, Steve Vaccaro.
Abu-Zayedeh had struck Allison Liao, 3, in a Flushing crosswalk in 2013.
The DMV did not immediately comment.
A traffic court judge had initially dismissed the two tickets he got from the crash in a 47-second court appearance, causing a public outcry.
Allison’s father posted a happy message on Facebook about the latest decision.
“The licenses is revoked for the driver who killed Ally!!!” wrote Hsi-Pei Lao.
