Excited to see this lady in the news again!
Roopal Patel has been named the new fashion director of Saks Fifth Avenue.
Patel, the founder of her eponymous consulting firm, was a former fashion director at Moda Operandi and Bergdorf Goodman, as well as the senior accessory market editor at Neiman Marcus.
She was hired by Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue, who recently replaced former Harrods exec Marigay McKee. McKee left the company in a surprise exit in April after just 15 months.
In her new role, Patel will be using her background in trend forecasting to influence the fashion buying and scouting for new designers. She’ll report to Saks’ chief merchant, Tracy Margolies.
