Michelle still hasn't found a match

-.-

Remember Project Michelle, a campaign focused on recruiting people to become potential bone marrow donors? 26-year old Michelle Maykin was originally diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a cancer of the blood, on February 27, 2007. For Michelle to be cured of her leukemia, her treatment plan will include even more intensive chemotherapy, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, Michelle does not currently have a bone marrow match and will not be able to undergo a transplant without one. From her husband Van just this morning: "Despite the hard work of hundreds of volunteers over the last 4 months, no registrants have converted to final donors. However, we feel fortunate that her body is still holding up despite all the chemo and is giving us more time to find a donor. We're not sure how much longer this will last but we're remaining hopeful. Everyone is still working hard to set up more drives for Michelle and other patients." Here is how you can help http://projectmichelle.com/join-the-registry. »by jaymie
