A former Ms. Tokyo, Keiko put her steps in the Big Apple with just enough cash to survive and nobody to depend on. As she strolled down Fifth Avenue for the first time, she came across a tall, black and polished building across from St. Patrick's Cathedral, OLYMPIC TOWER. As she gazed at the astonishing building, she said to herself, "One day, I am going to live in this building and have my own offices inside." Keiko's strength would be the bridge between the U.S. and Japan by introducing new products and businesses to both parties. She could utilize her bilingual abilities and understanding of both markets. Keiko's most recognized projects include launching the Wonder Bra in Asia and undertaking the consulting for Sara Lee's expansion into the Japanese market in 1993. As she once stood in front of Olympic Tower and imagined the day of being able to live there, her dream came true. She now has a beautiful apartment and an office in the high-rise building overlooking downtown Manhattan. Keiko recently went back to school at Harvard University's Owner & President Management program and completed her course in May 2004, becoming the first Japanese woman to graduate from this program. During her time off, Keiko delights in taking walks through Central Park with her husband Rocky H. Aoki, Founder of Benihana and her beloved Wheaton terrier, MUGI. Now she brings her diverse capabilities to ASIANCE Magazine as Lifestyle Coordinator and Board of Advisor. Read my articles
