Michelle Phan’s Directorial Debut

Top make-up vlogger Michelle Phan makes her directorial debut with “Catch My Heart” which fuses a short narrative film with a make-up tutorial.

The video is just over nine minutes long and sees Phan cleverly integrating her Samsung phone, romance and a make-up tutorial. The video is clever and her fans get to see her outside of her usual make-up videos.

“This is my first time ever directing. I wrote this story on a flight to NY, inspired by the idea of two lovers meeting because of their phones. I wanted to try something different from my normal makeup tutorials,” says Phan.

According to a recent New York Times article, Phan is the most subscribed YouTube channel of any woman with over 1.5 million fans.

“Catch My Heart” also starred Joseph Vincent and was produced by Richard Frias.
