Fashion Night Out with Chanel Iman

As Fashion’s Night Out has grown exponentially since its launch 3 years ago, it’s the one night of the year when celebrities and designers lend their support and meet with shoppers in a fun party atmosphere causing major fashionista gridlock around the city. We started out early in the Meatpacking district at 6 before the throngs of people descended upon the streets; stopping at Tory Burch for grilled cheese sandwiches and strawberry milkshakes while rocking out to the tunes of DJ Cassidy. Then we popped into the Standard Hotel biergarten to see Bruce Weber with the launch of his pop up shop, Weberbilt, as we admired the stunning male models that looked like they walked off the billboard of a Calvin Klein ad that Weber had shot.

Next stop was the uber chic Ippolita gallery on 14th Street which was a calming experience celebrating Italian design. Further uptown, Fifth Avenue was celeb central and flooded with throngs of shoppers screaming with glee outside Versace and Lacoste. Ferragamo was an elegant affair as they celebrated their partnership with the Natural History Museum attracting socials and supermodels. Our highlight of the night was the Sunglass Hut where we had a chance to chat with the gorgeous Chanel Iman who was posing with shoppers in today’s latest shades.

Asiance: What shows are you doing this week?

CI: I’m not sure yet, but it will be a busy week.

Asiance: Who are some of your favorite designers?

CI: I’m wearing Gucci tonight. It’s so sexy and sophisticated.

Asiance: What are you looking forward to the most during fashion week?

CI: A vacation after fashion week, it’s a lot of chaos, and it’s a lot of work.

Asiance: Who are your favorite style icons?

CI: I like Kate Moss’s style she’s fun and always fashionable.
