Modern Weekly & Nicola Formichetti present Chinese designers and their collections to celebrate international talent.

They are Huishan Zhang, Masha Ma, Uma Wang, Yang Du, Joseph Li, Qui Hao, Shao-Yen Chen, Jin Cong Yu, Xiao Yu with a special film by Yi Zhou.

This diverse group of upcoming fashion designers hail from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan and have explored whit it is to be modern, relevant and engaged in a time when the diaspora of the Chinese culture is becoming more apparant and China is recognized as a rising and incrasingly influential global power.
From the urban sophistication and contemporary luxury of designers such as Huishan Zhang and Josephe Li, to the dark poetry and hard silhouettes of Qui Hao and Masha Ma, each desinger has a distinctive identity. Yang Du’s signature playful knitwear compliments the precision of Xiao Yu’s sculptural creations and the technical investigations and material research of Jin Cong Yu and Uma Wag stand along the avant garde direction of Shao-Yen Chen.
