Monique Lhuillier’s Artistic Prose

Though Monique Lhullier is no stranger to the red carpet, this season she took a departure from her usual delicate chiffon and neutral bridal inspired looks. Instead she was channeling a stronger woman using bold color blocking, leather trims to accentuate the female form in structured tailored dresses and exposed lace corsetry. Her second overriding theme seemed to be taken directly from an artist’s canvas with splashes of primary colors on white taffetta reminiscent of Pollack on full length gowns in columnar or trumpet silhouettes. Though the collection had a very Fall feeling to it, we would expect to see these on leading ladies come Awards season.
