Aishwarya was apparently offered the role of Briseis, starring opposite Brad Pitt in the movie “Troy”, which she turned down.

Two-time Oscar-nominated director Wolfgang Petersen’s epic Greek drama was supposed to star the actress but it did not come about. Most likely due to the racy love scenes. The character was to have an extremely beautiful woman portraying it since Briseis is historically known to be very good-looking. But if sources are to be believed, Aishwarya turned down the offer politely, and the role the went to actress Rose Byrne.

‘Troy’ had Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt playing the lead character of Achilles, and the movie was a major grosser at the box-office.
