Tiger Woods’ first visit to Singapore

It’s Tiger Woods’ first visit to the Lion City and the former world number 1 golfer said the city is like “nothing he has ever seen in Asia before”. Looking relaxed, Woods joked with the media and talked about his current form – which hasn’t been good since his divorce from his wife in 2009 over affairs with other women. The 14 time major golf championship winner is now at a low 56th in rankings.

He hopes to bring his career back with the Australian Open in Sydney and the President’s Cup in Melbourne. Woods heads to Australia from Singapore. The 35-year-old American golfer has been staying at the Marina Bay Sands since Tuesday.

Woods said: “I am just taking a look, kind of going around the city and taking a look at different golf courses and obviously there are some golf course design opportunities here … “I have been playing a tonne of golf at home when I have played minimum of 36 holes. So I have been out there and just playing, getting my playing instincts back, something I hadn’t done all summer. “Obviously, I have been injured, and now having the opportunity to get out there and play, and get my feel back is something. That has been good.”
