Kamala Harris, who is the first Asian American District Attorney and first

Kamala Harris, who is the first Asian American District Attorney and first elected official in California to endorse President Obama during his 2008 run for the White House and campaigned for him during his 2004 Senate run — is a longtime FOB (friend of Barack.) She will get a 5-10 minute speaking slot at the confab at a date and time to be determined. It is one in a series of high-profile roles for Harris, as she is also a co-chair of the Rules Committee.

She will likely talk about her role in crafting the $26 billion mortgage settlement.

She campaigned with Obama in Ohio earlier this month and is expected to hit the road again with him this fall on weekends.

Other new speakers added to the podium lineup Monday include: Chicago Mayor/former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, CO (Swing State Alert!) Gov. John Hickenlooper; Ex-Virginia (Swing State Alert!) Guv/U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine, Mass. Sen. (NoDoz Alert!) John Kerry, MD Gov. Martin O’Malley, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and ex-Ohio (Swing State Alert!) Gov. Ted Strickland.
