On Wednesday morning, international photographer and ‘Asia’s Next Top Model’ (AsiasNTM) judge Todd Anthony Tyler, celebrated the kick off of New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2013 runway season with a breakfast at Morimoto NY, the restaurant of Food Network star and Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.
America’s Next Top Model alums Eugena Washington from cycle 7 and April Wilkner (half Japanese, half German) from cycle 2, gathered to hear Tyler share his unique point of view on fashion photography, modeling trends and also learned more about his role as resident photographer and judge on the premiere cycle of AsiasNTM, an adaptation of Tyra Banks’ original hit TV series Top Model. Known for transforming models into icons, Tyler has captured the rising star of Asia’s freshest faces including Liu Wen, Fei Fei Sun and Kiki Kang. His work regularly graces the pages of elite fashion magazines including Vogue China, Elle China, Harper’s Bazaar China, L’Officiel and GQ.
Tyler, who has snapped ad campaigns for Ports 1961, Uma Wang, Ritz-Carlton Hotels and L’Oreal Paris. “I look forward to introducing the world to the diverse and unique beauty of Asian women, while doing my part to mentor and develop the chosen finalists into successful top models.”
For the first time, the franchise will bring together young women that encompass the rich diversity and nuances of all Pan-Asia for an opportunity to prove they have what it takes to become AsiasNTM.
