Wells Fargo & Company announced that it will offer free global remittance services from any Wells Fargo checking or savings account to any ICICI or HDFC bank branch in India through November 16, 2012, as a Diwali gift to its South Asian customers. Diwali, which falls on Nov. 13 this year, is a time of celebration and gift-giving for the Indian community. South Asians living and banking around the country can take advantage of this offer at 785 Wells Fargo branches.

“Indians consider Diwali the start of their New Year, and to celebrate this special time with our customers, Wells Fargo has made the resolution to enable gift-giving to family members and friends in India a little bit easier by making it completely free leading up to Diwali,” said Daniel Ayala, executive vice president and head of Wells Fargo’s Global Remittance Services. “We truly value our South Asian customers and consider them family; it’s important for us to participate in their traditions and customs, whenever possible.”
