Dress for Coming of Age
Hello there,
This is my first post, so Im little nervous.
I live in Tokyo, that is one of the most fashionable city in the world. ( I think 😉
And we had coming of age party last week in Japan. I would like to tell about the latest dress for coming of age party in 2012! We have such a big party with schoolmates in city hall on second Monday in January, at the age of 20, (20 y-o is Japanese regal age!)
As you know, kimono is Japanese traditional clothes. We rarely wear kimono, however in coming of age party, most of us put kimono on and join the party.
Here are top three colors!
1. Red
Red makes girls looks more sexy and mature. When girls are in red, they can show their cheerfulness. Also, one of the reason is Red is the most traditional color. With red, orange and pink based making up are so suited!
White / Pink
As you can see, white and pink is princess colors, and looks so cute! 🙂 I think most of us love pink and white. Of course Japanese girls love it! The flowers on white and pink looks so blight. However, coming of age party is for the girls who are going to be matured, so they have to make up with red color or purple to make them looks more beautiful than cute. And also they should put deep color on waist to make it look slim! ( White and pink are expansive color and make us look not slim ;(
Black
In these days, Black get more and more popular! Because, Black make us sexy and matured like Red does. Also patterns on black look better attractive. For example, if you have blight color nails, it looks more blight and can get attention. In addition, Black makes us look slim! Yes! ( But if you are short, black also make you look more shorter! ;(
For these examples, these three colors are very popular in Japanese traditional coming age of party! You have to check it, a

Omg love this! So glad you are bringing Japanese culture to the American and Asian American girls!
