George Takei supports Japanese Am National Museum in upcoming Celebrity Apprentice
George Takei, most well known for his role in “Star Trek”, is taking on Donald Trump in the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice and raising funds for the Japanese-American National Museum.
Takei is the son of Japanese-American immigrants and this challenge will be particularly close to his heart. Takei and his family were incarcerated in two different Japanese internment camps for two years during World War Two.
“I still remember the way [my father] summed it all up. He said, ‘America’s strength and weakness is in the fact that it’s a peoples’ democracy. It can be as great as the people can be, but it’s as fallible as people are.'”, he says of his experience.
Celebrity Apprentice will air on NBC, premiering on Sunday, February 19.
