Asian Beauty Products Gets Noticed in the UK

UK fashion and beauty magazine, Stylist, compiled 20 cult beauty products from around the world, with 4 Asian ones on the list.

Stylist magazine noted Dabur Amla Jasmine Hair Oil and Shanaz Hussein Kajal kohl eyeliner from India, d.j.v. Beautenizer Fiberwig LX mascara from Japan and Ginvera Green Tea Cleanser from Signapore as the top Asian beauty products.

Dabur Amla Jasmine Hair Oil has been a part of the Indian beauty vocabulary for over 50 years and the Kajal kohl eyeliner’s herb and almond oil formulation is rich in pigment but easy on the eye, giving a good, strong Bollywood eye.

Japan’s d.j.v. Beautenizer Fiberwig LX mascara is the country’s top selling mascara. This is the definite must-have for the wide, doe-eye look that dominates Japanese fashion magazines.

True to most Asian formulations, Ginvera Green Tea Cleanser is mild on the skin but proves to be an efficient make up remover without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.

Asia has long been known as a hotbed for beauty products and rituals. While beauty editors have waxed poetic about them, they were hard to come by in the States. However, with the rise of internet shopping, many products that were previously unavailable in the Western markets are now being introduced through mainstream websites such as Cult Beauty and The Beauty Pot.

But heavy import duties and taxes mean these products, while available, come at an inflated price, sometimes costing double what it would cost in its home country.
