Behind the Scenes at the 69th Golden Globe Awards

Kicking off Los Angeles’ glamorous awards season is the Golden Globe Awards that celebrates the best of film and television. Much more laid back and fun than the Academy Awards or the Emmys, especially with the cutting tongue of Ricky Gervais as host, this year there was no shortage of star power thanks to the casting prowess of HFPA powerhouse Helen Hoehne. Unlike more formal award ceremonies, where guests are limited to stage seats, the format of the 3 hour congraulatory fest had dinner tables with unlimited magnums of 2002 vintage Moet champagne unveiled for the first time just for the fest. To keep restless guests entertained a lounge area was set up adjacent to the ballroom where celebs and guests mingled about in between commercial breaks. What was almost as fun as watching the actual awards and presenters was seeing what people were wearing, some of our favorites were donned by Jessica Alba, Tilda Swinton, Natalie Portman, and Kate Beckinsale. Let’s not forget about the after parties immediately following the ceremony, the only issue you have is choosing which one to stop by. Highlights of the night were Warner Brothers/Intstyle’s bash fashioned to look like a hot hollywood nightclub that featured a Godiva chocolate bar with every flavor ever made to choose from with art work crafted out of Godiva chocolates, Harvey Weinstein’s party that resembled an elegant 20s dance club reminiscent of the Artist, and HBO’s elegant silvery poolside soiree.
