Lucky Star. Positive thinking and even a four-leaf clover can bring good fortune.

There’s a Persian proverb that translates to “Go and wake up your luck.” And despite the perception that good fortune is utterly random, research sides with the Persians. It is possible to make yourself luckier, in part because it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy: Believe you’re favored, and you will be. But your life can also be improved by what you wear, whom you talk to, and even what you write in your journal (or blog). Opportunities that seem to be handed out arbitrarily to certain people are really ones tht they’ve created for themselves. Even if they don’t know Farsi.

1. Brighten Up
There’s a high correlation between people who say they’re lucky and people who are upbeat even when unpleasant things happen. With practice anyone can learn to believe that they are lucky. Each night write down or think of a few things that you consider to be lucky and put it on a memo board where you can look at it. Seeing a pattern of good things will stir up positive feelings.

2. Be Open-minded
Lucky people find opportunities other people may not because they are extremely aware of their surrounding environment. Reminds me of a professor in high school who handed out a paper with a task of 55 things to do. The 55th task said to ignore all tasks and do nothing. I just sat their and did nothing while everyone else looked at me in horror while they stressfully raced to the finish line. Read all of the instructions or at least glance over them start to finish before doing anything. So look for hidden meanings, codes and obvious messages at all times. Simply be alert.

3. Get superstitious
For example, I believe in astrology and follow it to a science, because it IS a science! A simple trick can increase confidence, which makes more positive things happen. Case in point, the power of the lucky talisman on the show ‘Bewitched’. Believing in Magic and the pychology of superstition is a very powerful force! So here is to YOU starting out each new day with that box of LUCKY CHARMS! 🙂
