The best swimmers in the nation are in Mesa, Ariz competing in the Arena Grand Prix.
Twelve-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin proved she still has much to offer the sport Friday night, swimming a personal best 24.90 seconds at age 30 to win the 50-meter freestyle at the Arena Grand Prix in Mesa.
Coughlin bettered her previous best 24.92 from 2008 to decisively beat Jessica Hardy (25.38) and Christine Magnuson of Tucson (25.47) on the second of three days at Skyline Aquatic Center.
She’s now been better than 55 seconds in this race in every meet she’s raced since the Olympics (this is her third).
Why does everyone keep bringing up her age? Look at Dara Torres!
