With such beautiful April weather, all thoughts are turning to spring romance and sailing in the harbor.

The Sailors Ball is the annual party which celebrates the start of the new sailing season. Lots of sailors and sailing enthusiasts put on their black tie best for a fun evening of socializing and dancing.

The Sailors Ball is famous for it’s theme room format and guests can glide from room to room throughout the evening to experience different sights, sounds and atmospheres.

The Mt Gay Rum room will be on the second floor with Caribbean themed music. Manhattan Sailing School will be offering special discounts on Basic Sailing courses this night. Maybe you should learn to sail this spring!

The Heineken Beer Boom Boom Room is always the most popular location from midnight until the ball ends at 1 a.m. Lots of great contemporary music will have everyone in the crowd dancing up a storm.

There will also be an exclusive Moet & Chandon America’s Cup Room on the third floor. The “Friends of America II” who support this beautiful America’s Cup 12 Meter will be on hand. You can arrange a Corporate Teambuilding Sail for your company this summer. Ask for details in the room this evening. There will also be information about deliverers, races and the special Grand Sails.

Hinckley Yachts is a brand linked with quality and incredible design. They will transform the library into a Hinckley Model Room and show some of their great designs. You will be able to chat with Hinckley representatives to learn more about their heritage as well as their latest technological innovations.

The famous Martini Room will also be back again on the third floor. This is the room where many people start the evening.

The Ball runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. After the ball ends, partygoers continue the night at some after-parties including drinking champagne at a club in Tribeca.

Before the Ball, there will also be a special Moet & Chandon Dinner with Dennis Conner, America’s most famous sailor. Special VIP tickets for this dinner are also available on the website.

About 800 people normally attend the Sailors Ball. It’s been going on for 16 years and is always the best black tie party of the year. The ball is held at at private club on Pine Street in Lower Manhattan.
