Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus met with Asian American Republican leaders

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus met with Asian American Republican leaders to talk about their outreach efforts.

Since this year, the GOP is actively courting California with its 55 electoral votes, and its growing Asian American voting block.

The Pew Research Center shows that during the 2012 presidential elections, more second-generation Asians and Latinos voted for President Obama.

Overall, 26% percent of Asians voted Republican, down from 55 percent in 1992.

In an attempt to win the support of Asian voters, the RNC has hired full time Asian American staff and have asked long time Republicans to not only help register voters, but to convince them to be members of the party.
