Korean girl group Girl’s Generation kicked off their first ever world tour

Korean girl group Girl’s Generation kicked off their first ever world tour with concerts in Seoul over the weekend, reported Korean media.

Their 2013 Girl’s Generation World Tour – Girls & Peace will bring them to the US, Taiwan and countries in South America.

“We are excited that we’ll get to meet fans from around the world,” said Girl’s Generation’s Kim Taeyeon of their world tour, during a media conference on Sunday.

One of the most popular music groups in K-pop today, Girl’s Generation made their debut in 2007, and is best known for their hit songs like “Gee” and “Genie”.

The nine-member group is scheduled to perform during the Asia Style Collection 2013 fashion and music event in Singapore on June 22.
