Gaurav and Karima Wedding
Guests Gaurav and Karima’s wedding have never quite experienced anything like. As honored guests of the couple, that happen to have cameras, photographers Robert and Laura JUST returned from New Delhi, India where they spent a whirlwind week shooting this wedding and doing a little sightseeing as well. India took their breath away. There was such a surreal contrast between the royal opulence of this wedding vs. the extreme poverty and trash that litters the rest of the country…..but to be able to experience both sides of India is what made the trip so fantastic. There is so much beauty in both extremes, but what they found wherever they went (other than extreme hospitality) was vibrant COLOR.
The jewels, the saris, the tents, the painted elephants….all of it created this fairy tale environment that they didn’t even know where to begin shooting! There are almost 6,000 photos posted online that was shot over 4 days…but here are a few to show you the different parties and ceremonies. Karima is actually Mexican and she and Gaurav met in an airport and had a long distance courtship/friendship for years before they got engaged. The third party was a tribute to Karima’s heritage with a huge Mayan Pyramid constructed over the dance floor, dancers, trapeze artists and an “ancient civilization” sort of theme transformed the party back in time to Mayan temples.
