Dev Patel says his girlfriend Freida Pinto forces him to watch himself on TV show The Newsroom.

The British actor says his girlfriend Freida Pinto makes him view his performance on The Newsroom.

Dev, 23, plays blogger Neal Sampat on The Aaron Sorkin-penned series which airs on the HBO network.

“She’s a big fan of the show,” Dev told Us Weekly about his girlfriend of four years. “It’s kind of unbearable for me to watch myself, so she kind of force-feeds it. She’s up every Sunday watching it. She’s really supportive.”

The drama revolves around a fictional cable news network and is gearing up for its second series.

Freida is very much the supportive girlfriend and helps her actor beau rehearse his lines.

“She kind of knows the episode and then will say, ‘Wait, you did it better in the bathroom the other day,’” laughed Dev.

The low key couple met while filming Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire back in 2008.

Freida, 28, once described Dev as being her “soul mate”.
