It looks like the Indian actress is looking to branch out, joining comedy film “Mis-Fits” with Guy Pearce.

The directorial debut of L.D Napier, Variety reports that “Mis-Fits” stars Pearce “as a Brooklyn detective, whose job is to find dead relatives.” Pinto will play the love interest.

Producer Doug Claybourne said of Pinto: “We’ve been looking for just the right combination of warmth and chutzpah and Freida is the perfect fit: Intelligent and talented, and she completely gets the humor in this story about finding family. [“Mis-Fits”] will definitely be enjoyed by the 30s-and-up for the quirky, intelligent comedy element.”
