Polish Cosmetics Poised for Expansion in the US & Asia
Earlier this month, Asiance was privileged enough to gain insight into the Polish cosmetics industry at a conference held in Warsaw as part of their 3 year promotion aimed at expanding into countries including China and the US. Poland has been producing world class and cutting edge skincare products since 1919 with brands such as Helena Rubenstein originating in Poland and flourishing for the next 2 decades. Unfortunately, the political climate that Poland has faced over the last century has stymied the prominence and potential of some of their national brands.
However, since their transformation from the collapse of the Communist system in the late 80s through their entry into the European Union in 2004, Poland has always maintained their high quality and expertise in the beauty industry which meets the high standards demanded by the EU, invests heavily into research and development, uses predominantly organic and natural ingredients in skincare, and is the sixth largest producer of cosmetics in Europe, yet their products are available at lower prices due to the lower employment costs. On the heels of the successful worldwide expansion of Poland based Inglot, it seems like the world is ready to embrace the advantages afforded by Polish cosmetic brands.
Here are some highlights of what we saw at their beauty expo, including organic body lotions that use natural food ingredients with yummy scents like cocoa or coffee, and a hydro exercise bike that allows you to get a workout while enjoying a jacuzzi experience.
AA cosmetics has been producing cosmetics specifically for allergy prone skin for over 30 years and contain certified pharmaceutical raw materials without allergenic and irritant compounds. Out of all the colored cosmetics we saw at the Polish Beauty Convention, the one that stood out with potential to be the next Inglot, was Paese, which is only 7 years old. All of the products contain nourishing ingredients such as Vitamin C, A ,PP, B and E complexis with about 85% of the composition as natural ingredients. Using a palette of on trend colors, we loved the deep pigmented matte eyeshadows, a pearlized luminizing primer, foundations made with antibacterial and anti flammatory properties, bronzers and diamond eye shadows using natural pearl, a rice powder for matte effects, lip gloss/balms that are flavored by vanilla, chocolate and toffee, and nail treatments to fix thin and brittle nails.
