Wellness with Whole Foods

What’s not to love about Whole Foods. This fall there are event more reasons to love their all natural offerings for nutrition and wellness products. Last week, Asiance previewed some of their top wellness and nutritionist brands to learn about the benefits of using natural and organic skincare products, and finding out about healthy, natural snacking and fair trade products.

For beauty
Dr. Hauschka is a holistic beauty and skincare line that was established in Germany in 1967 and uses plant extracts and 100% natural ingredients shunning petrochemicals and parabens. Over 80% of what we put on our skin is absorbed into our bloodstream, so they really stress the importance of researching a plant’s origins and the way they interact with other herbs and on our skin. They said that over time parabens get absorbed internally and deposit into breast tissue causing breast cancer – how scary! Some of our favorite products are the Day Rose Cream that smells like a rose garden where over 45 flowers are used per tube, lip balm, clarifying toner, and quince moisturizer.

Mineral Fusion featured a full line of all natural mineral cosmetics that are hypo-allergenic and free from parabens, artificial colors, fragrances, gluten, talc, and phthalates and all contain a treatment for the skin. Unlike traditional makeup, the minerals don’t clog pores and stay on the surface of the skin. Their resident makeup artist said to always use a primer but to stick with only eye specific products and primers for any area around the eye and face creams on the cheeks and everywhere else, because the skin around the eyes isn’t as porous and you don’t want the heavier face cream to clog the eye area. Their powders, shadows, bronzers and blushes come in a range of flattering and natural hues with lip sticks and glosses that have a pop. This fall they introduced a nail line that uses mainly natural ingredients in this season’s on trend colors.
