GBK’s Glorious Golden Globes Gift Lounge
As much as we love to watch the Golden Globes, there are a lot of pre events surrounding the show that are never seen on TV to see how celebrities prep for the ensuing big night. We got a glimpse at how the other half lives, if only for an afternoon, when we visited the GBK luxury gift lounge that honered the nominees and presenters of the Globes at the posh L’Ermitage Hotel. Celebrities were given a duffel, the size of a body bag, to fill with goodies from all of their sponsors. As GBK loves to give back this year, the lounge benefited City of Hope, which benefits scientific research and also with Lambda Legal. Here’s a sampling of what we saw.
For fashion and accessories, they had Essilor of America present luxury polarized sunglasses, reindeer jewelry from SwedArt, and the Artisan group which is a curated collection of handmade jewelry, stationery, fine art photography, spa and bath products and other gift items that are one of kind pieces for the celebrity who wants to have something completely original. Custom made swimsuits, BeachCandy swimwear by Brit B were given and other finds from the debut line of Mr. & Mrs. 8, and watches from Egard.
Don’t forget about the celebrity pets! Smartsilk, a luxury silk filled bedding company, showed us the benefits of their silk filled pet bedding and apparel line for that pampered pooch! Couture by sophie gave custom made couture creations for dogs.
One of the highlights of GBK was their offerings in skin and beauty products. Burke Williams Day Spa, one of LA’s most well known spas, gave a sugar scrub gift certificate and H2V skin products. RevitaLash gave products from their latest offerings including a primer, color cosmetics, and their DramatEyes lengthening and conditioning products. Ajinomoto North America showed us, Glysom, which is a scientifically proven dietary supplement for deeper, sounder and more satisfying sleep without morning drowsiness. impress Broadway Nails had showed us their latest at home ombre nail kit that we are obsessed with as well as their day glo easy on the go nail strips for instant nail art. We love Tweezerman, who makes the best beauty tools for eyes and feet, including their ProCurl eyelash curler and Slant Tweezers. Organic Skincare gave skin products infused with bee venom which is supposed to be the most moisturizing material on the planet. Jose Eber Hair gave the revolutionary infrared blow dryer that cuts drying time by more than half.
Other A list celebrities got getaways at Surfcomber Hotel, Epic Hotel and Seven Stars Turks & Caicos.
We also had a chance to sample wine from Newman’s Own Wines, as well as snacks from Bella’s Berries Compotes, Sabra Dipping Company, Vita Organic foods featuring raw, organic chocolate bars, the Real juice for juice cleanses, Raw Crunch energy bars, Big Bertha’s Black Market Biscotti, and cakes from Bread Basket cake company.
