Two women who work at a massage parlor face prostitution related charges

Two women who work at a massage parlor face prostitution related charges following an investigation that began when a customer’s wife shadowed her husband into the business, saw sex acts while kicking down doors looking for him and called police, authorities said Friday.

The woman, who followed her husband into the Rose Spa on Park Avenue three weeks ago, found her husband alone, waiting for a massage, but also saw sexual acts being performed and called police to the scene, Police Chief John Russo said. But the spa was empty when police arrived. Nevertheless, that led to an undercover investigation and the arrest of two women Thursday after they tried to get away by climbing onto a roof, he said.

The manager, Shanji An, 42, of Flushing, N.Y., is charged with promoting prostitution, obstructing, resisting arrest, and maintaining a nuisance, all indictable offenses, as well as operating as an unlicensed massage therapist, a borough code violation, Russo said.

Meishu Jiang, 45, of Palisades Park is charged with engaging in prostitution, a disorderly persons offense, as well as indictable offenses of obstructing and resisting arrest. She also was charged with operating as an unlicensed therapist.

Both were released on summonses, Russo said.

Just make prostitution legal already, geez!
