AR Rahman, the most renowned face internationally of modern Indian music, and
AR Rahman, the most renowned face internationally of modern Indian music, and who has two Oscars under his belt for Slumdog Millionaire, is in contention once again, at the 87th Oscars with three of his compositions from films making the long list of 114 scores which have been announced.
Rahman is in contention for next year’s awards for three of his films: ‘Million Dollar Arm’, ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’ and ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ . The three scores for the films are part of the long list released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Friday.
The final nominations shortlist for the prestigious awards will be announced January 15, 2015, while the presentation ceremony will be held February 22, 2015.
Also making it to the long is singer Sonu Nigam and percussionist Bickram Ghosh with their score for ‘Jal’.
