Godfrey Gao’s Hollywood debut The Mortal Instruments comes to theaters August 21

Taiwanese Canadian actor/model Godfrey Gao embarks on his first English-language role in this summer’s ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’, starring Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, and Jemima West. The film is an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s popular fantasy adventure novel, and Godfrey Gao plays the 800-year-old Magnus Bane, the High Warlock of Brooklyn, who is half demon, half human and known for throwing grand parties.

Gao is known for acting in Taiwanese films and TV dramas including Say Yes, The Queen of SOP, and Volleyball Lover. He was also touted as the first Asian male supermodel after he was signed as Louis Vuitton’s first Asian face in 2011.

The second film of the series, ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes’ will start production in September 2013 with an anticipated 2014 release date.
