K-pop quintet the Wonder Girls will join singers Katy Perry, Tokio Hotel and Bunkface at the MTV World Stage in Malaysia on July 31.

The global event will be held at the famous Sunway Lagoon Resort Surf Beach.

“MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 is one of MTV’s most recognizable and eagerly anticipated events. This global series reaches over 550 million households worldwide and features the hottest music artists performing at unique locations around the world. Music fans in 162 countries are transported to front row seats somewhere in the world to experience their favorite recording artists live,” according to the event’s official website.

MTV said it expects 15,000 music fans to turn up at the event.

After the Malaysia event, the Wonder Girls will head off to Singapore to perform at the Singfest, or the Singapore Music Festival.

The three-day festival will be held from Aug. 3 to 5 at the Fort Canning Park.

The Wonder Girls will perform on Aug. 3 together with Katy Perry, Tokio Hotel, Orianthi and The Like.

Kanye West will headline the Aug. 4 leg together with Lupe Fiasco, Kool and the Gang, Diane Birch and Jully Black.

On Aug. 5, the performers are Smashing Pumpkins, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ian Brown, The Vines and Hail the Villain.
