Marisa Sung’s Rules of Etiquette for the Modern World Number 14

Thou shalt not use my personal products when a guest at my home. When I am kind enough to have you stay at my little Taj Mahal, you may not use my personal grooming items. I was raised with all of my very own things as I do not have a sister.

I expect that you will know enough not to touch my hair brush, makeup, soap and other similar type items. That is why the Mario Badescu liquid soap and travel mini shampoos and conditioners, and other sample products are out on display. I am a germaphobe as you are aware and I find it an absolute waste to have to replace these expensive items when I am on a budget. I truly hope that you will take the time to learn how to properly behave as a guest at someone’s residence. Also, I don’t need to receive complimentary items from the Concierge at a Hotel when I wasn’t the one staying there. I don’t need stationery from The Hyatt Hotel thank you very much! If you want to give someone a gift, get a real one or don’t get anything at all. Thank you and I really hope this helps!
