Monarch Roof Top Lounge offers respite during Fashion Week madness

With Fashion Week NYC in full swing, the nightlife scene is heating up and the best parties happen on a glamorous rooftop that offers top notch cocktails paired with stunning views. One of the best new rooftop bars to open is the Monarch Roof Top Lounge where handsome owner Ric Addison recently hosted top Japanese magazine’s, and Girl, photoshoot on the roof, which offered the best views from his new lounge. Located across the street from Macy’s Herald Square you can see many cranes toward the river working on Manhattan’s next “It” neighborhood, Hudson Yards. Ric’s Monarch Rooftop Lounge has already become the go to spot after a Macy’s shopping trip (they even will check your shopping bags) for afternoon signature sangria or maybe one the “light” frozen drinks. This new neighborhood of Manhattan is getting ready for its close up and there is no better view of it than from the Monarch.

The High Line Park just completed its final route up to 34th Street. Neiman Marcus just announced its first NYC store to be located in Hudson Yards and the Lucky 7 train extension will open very soon on 34th Street & 11th Avenue.

Ric Addison opened one of NYC’s first and best roof top lounges of all time in 2002, Ava Rooftop Lounge at the Dream Hotel Midtown. At that time, Columbus Circle Area was undergoing a chic transformation with Ava leading the way. Now, Ric is doing the same thing in Hudson Yards with Monarch Lounge being a pioneer in this emerging neighborhood.

We enjoyed Blood Orange Stilettos from the special fashion week drink menu at the main room’s convivial bar which overlooks a gorgeous sliding glass wall with caterpillar-segmented sofas to relax on and take in the views. The room was packed with a very mixed crowd of downtown fashion and music types mingling with hip business types while enjoying ambient electro tunes via a cool DJ. Monarch features Hudson River views but the real show stopper is the direct view of New York City’s most iconic and celebrated building – The Empire State Building. Monarch is open 7 days a week and perfect for sunsets or late nights on the town http://addisongroupnyc.com/venues/monarch/
