Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Fall Gala at the Greenwich Hyatt Regency – November 9, 2014
ABOUT THE MMRF
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is one of the leading cancer research foundations in the world. The MMRF has helped bring multiple myeloma patients six new treatments that have doubled survival rate, and show promise of benefitting many other cancers. The MMRF leads through innovative models and novel approaches to transform the healthcare landscape to impact the lives of patients.
ABOUT THE MMRF ANNUAL FALL GALA
Over 1,300 supporters attend the MMRF Fall Gala, including the nation’s most prominent healthcare leaders, business executives and philanthropists. With an outstanding 90% of the MMRF total budget directed to research and related programming, funds raised at the MMRF Fall Gala have made a meaningful difference in accelerating the process to lead to a cure.
We hope you will join us at the MMRF Annual Fall Gala on November 8, 2014, for an evening featuring the sounds of New Orleans Jazz.

MMRF – A FAST TRACK TO CURES IN OUR LIFETIME
The MMRF’s mission is to be the leading research foundation driving novel science and treatments to patients and through continuous innovation overcome obstacles to extending lives and accelerating cures.
With a laser focus on accelerating drug development in multiple myeloma, the MMRF has built collaborative model bring together the myeloma community with the goal of delivering the next
generation of treatments to patients as quickly as possible.
Our results to date:
o 6 new drugs – Velcade®, Revlimid®, Thalidomide®, Doxil®, Kyprolis™ and Pomalyst®)
o 1st to sequence the myeloma genome
o 51 clinical trials opened
o 60% trials opening faster than industry standard
o 600 patients enrolled in CoMMpassSM trial (over 300 sequenced)
o MMRF Researcher and MMRF Community Gateways
o Worldwide network – CoMMpassSM sites in Spain, Italy, Canada and UK
Our ground-breaking programs:
MMRF Collaborative Models
Since inception, the MMRF has built these collaborative models to transform the cancer research and development paradigm.
MMRC Tissue Bank
The MMRC launched the first GLP quality, multi-center tissue bank in 2004 to accelerate genomics research, as well as enable preclinical validation of potential new treatments and combinations of treatments.
Multiple Myeloma Genomics Initiative
Less than five years after the MMRF launched its Multiple Myeloma Genomics Initiative (MMGI), a comprehensive initiative spearheaded by the MMRF and in partnership with the world class MMRF CoMMpass Study In 2011, the MMRF launched the landmark MMRF CoMMpassSM study, which is designed to uncover the molecular changes to match patients to treatments most likely to benefit them. The most ambitious study of its kind, the CoMMpassSM study will collect and analyze tissue samples including genetic information from at least 1,000 newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients over at least five years.
