George Takei of Star Trek fame has a huge Facebook community of over 4 million Likes. Now it got revealed that the entertaining posts of George Takei are in fact written by a ghostwriter. How the word got out? The ghostwriter did it.

Rick Polito, ghostwriter for George Takei, spilled the beans to Jim Romenesko. The outrage the revelation caused under George Takei fans, triggered an apology by Polito according to Mashable. It looks like though George Takei does not see a big problem here.

He told Wired in an email: “What is this hoo-ha about my FB posts? I have Brad, my husband, to help me and interns to assist. What is important is the reliability of my posts being there to greet my fans with a smile or a giggle every morning. That’s how we keep on growing.”

I also do not get this hoo-ha, because “On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog” – look it up!

George Takei (or his ghostwriter) just posted on his Facebook page reacting to the ghostwriter “scandal:”

“First rule of the Internet: Don’t believe every story you read. Second rule: Yes, grammar still matters. –Uncle George”
