In light of this year’s tragic Electric Zoo music festival in New York, which was cut short this weekend when two people died from drug overdoses, a group of renowned DJs including Steve Aoki, Kaskade and A-Trak have come together to record a special PSA warning against the perils of popular club drug MDMA, often referred to as Ecstasy or Molly.

The clip was originally produced back in 2010 by URB following the MDMA-related death of 15-year-old Sasha Rodriguez at that year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles. The site was commissioned to make the video by the city’s “Rave Task Force” that was formed following the tragedy “to address the public health and safety issues inherent at large-scale electronic music events.”

That message is a six-point plan aimed specifically at party-going ravers in regards to MDMA:

– Rolling on (MDMA), can cause heart problems, brain damage, stroke, And possibly death!
– Take breaks to cool off. Sip sports drinks or water.
– Avoid energy drinks and caffeine. And don’t mix drugs and alcohol.
– If you or your friends feel hot or sick…it’s OK to ask for help.
– Never buy drugs or accept drinks from strangers…you never know what you may get.
– You can choose to take nothing at all.

The Electric Zoo tragedy follows the drug-related death of one fan and hospitalization of two more at Zedd‘s U.S. tour kickoff in Boston last week.
