For many people I have talked to over the years fashion merely seem to be a way of showing social status in life and at times it does seem confusing to me this obsession with material goods (I cant separate myself from that entirely though) But to say that fashion is nothing but social status is just plain wrong. The keyword to me is: style. And all though that green piece of paper does help a lot, style ultimately has nothing to do with the amount of money you can spend on your clothes. Fashion and design, to me is art, and there is no reason why everyone shouldn’t let that inner artist out and express themselves through their clothing. Because style is basically expressing yourself and making something your own and that is what makes it so interesting because everyone can do it, some better than others, but that’s really not the point. So the next time you dive into that closet of yours mix and match the best you know, and most importantly have fun with it, it is just clothes after all.
