Oscar-winning Indian composer AR Rahman attracted a huge audience at Parramatta Park for a Sydney Festival highlight.

Rahman’s performance, which was free, included the track Jai Ho from the flick Slumdog Millionaire, featured 40 dancers and musicians dressed in vibrant Indian wear.

A laser show added more energy and color to the gala, which saw fans sitting on rugs and picnic blankets, grooving with the beat of the music.

The Manganiyar Seduction, featuring 43 Rajasthani artists performing a impressive combination of music and theatre, also drew a huge word of praise from the audience.
