In celebration of the most exciting Korean films of the past year, the New York Korean Film Festival 2007, organized by The Korea Society and sponsored by Helio, was launched with a big opening party on August 23. The event was held at Sol nightclub. It featured performances by up-and-coming talents Min and G-Soul from JYP Entertainment.
For those interested in the festival but who could not attend the opening party, the NYKFF held a Networking Mixer last night from 9PM to midnight at Third Floor Café, a lounge in Manhattan’s Koreatown. This gathering offered a unique opportunity to meet both Director Kim Yong-hwa (*200 Pound Beauty *), who has come to NYC to introduce his movie.
Finally, the festival will come to a close with a party at Forum, a new bar on Fourth Avenue, on August 30 at 9:30PM. It will celebrate not only the festival, but also the short film festival segment that screens at Cinema Village on the same day. BAM Rose Cinemas will still show festival films until September 2.
