Apolo’s silver medal on Saturday night gave him more than any American

Apolo’s silver medal on Saturday night gave him more than any American man in Winter Olympic history, as he passed Eric Heiden, who won five medals, all gold, in 1980. It also tied Ohno with Bonnie Blair, who won six medals over three games.

Tonight he could continue to break Olympic records by surpassing Blair’s record and any other American in the history of the Winter Olympics.

Ohno has three races remaining, including the 1,000 meters, with its preliminaries tonight, and the 5,000-meter relay, tonight, too.
